A core function of the 1Sky campaign is to connect, amplify, and reinforce the powerful work of our allies. Our allies may engage the 1Sky campaign in many ways, as described below.

Roles of Allies:

All 1Sky Allies endorse the 1Sky platform. In addition, they may:

• Offer quotes, public remarks or press commentary in support of the campaign.
• Lend active support by recruiting additional allies, lending staff resources, and mobilizing constituencies into action.
• Support local and national 1Sky calls to action.
• Support and call for the 1Sky platform as the goal for policy solutions wherever possible.
• Share contact information generated in collaboration with the 1Sky campaign and/or message on 1Sky’s behalf to relevant organizational lists.
• Dedicate significant staff or financial resources to engaging directly in the planning and execution of central 1Sky campaign strategy or tactics.

Benefits for Allies:

• Full use of the 1Sky logo and materials in promoting the 1Sky platform and calls to action.
• Connection to a bold, high-profile campaign.
• Earned and paid media that ties allied organizations’ work to a unified campaign effort.
• Access to shared campaign web tools, trainings and organizer support.
• Possible co-location of organizers to implement critical elements of the 1Sky campaign (1Sky is supporting at least 20 organizers in 20 states with partnering organizations).
• Possible invitation to participate in the 1Sky Steering Committee.
• NB: In terms of funding for campaign execution and steering committee representation, priority will be given to the organizations or networks with the deepest commitment to 1Sky Campaign execution.

• MOBILIZE AMERICA FOR SOLUTIONS: Create 5 million new jobs with a sweeping national mobilization for climate solutions, energy independence, and investment in a new energy economy. Conserve 20% of our energy by 2015. Invest in efficiency and a Clean Energy Corps, and challenge all sectors of society to save energy immediately.
• SECURE OUR FUTURE: Do what science says is necessary: reduce global warming pollution at least 25% below 1990 levels by 2020. Get on a realistic path to the reductions needed to avoid dangerous climate change: at least 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Design our climate policy to support and reward accelerated public and private investment in solutions.
• TRANSFORM OUR ENERGY PRIORITIES: End development of new coal plants that emit global warming pollution. Pivot boldly away from fossil fuel dependence, and toward a clean energy future with strong standards and incentives for energy efficiency and renewable energy.
